Edgar Allan Poe’s Birthday (We guess…)

It seems that today marks the date of the best guess for the birthday of famed poet Edgar Allan Poe, acclaimed for such works as The Tell-Tale Heart,  The Pit and the Pendulum, and, of course, The Raven.

Even as a child, I remember being strangely drawn to the dark beauty of Poe’s works. I heard the thumping of that tell-tale heart and the squawking of that persistent raven and knew I wanted to create experiences with my words.

Today, I grow more fascinated still and continue to marvel at the poetry that lives on in glorious infamy. In his honor, I’ll proudly wear my Raven tee and brush up on some favorites. If you’d like to learn more about Poe’s works, check out this great, free online collection of stories and poetry.

“Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered, weak and weary, Over many a quaint and curious volume of forgotten lore…” – The Raven
