Product Review: IT Cosmetics ‘Bye Bye Foundation’ and Kit

Product Review: IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Foundation

Confession: I love a good infomercial. I mean, who doesn’t? I get sucked in and want to buy everything. Every damn thing. Slap Chop? Got it. NutriBullet? Totally had it. George Foreman Grill? Obvy. So there was no resisting the allure of the IT Cosmetics TV presentation hosted by Alison Sweeney, who I grew to love/hate/love on Days of Our Lives as a teen.

Since I am a bit of a beauty junkie, I had to give their famous ‘Bye Bye Foundation‘ a try. Sharing some photos and thoughts on the full kit just ahead.

WHAT I LOVED: The ‘Bye Bye Foundation’ is fantastic, just as they claimed it would be. I love that I can forgo traditional makeup brushes and apply it with my fingers. I just buff it with the brush and finishing powder for more of a matte effect.

The Hello Lashes Mascara is pretty impressive. I have been faithful to Diorshow for years. But this stuff really made my lashes pop without any clumping. Promise.

The Lip Flush is fantastic for a no-lipstick look with a bit of a natural flush. I’ve been using it daily. It’s meant to work on any skin tone to enhance your natural lip color.

The double-ended brush is one of the softest I’ve ever used. I love the polished effect it creates.

WHAT I DIDN’T LOVE: The Bye Bye Concealer is seriously thick. This is a product that will cover any tattoo easily (which they showcase on the infomercial). But it’s not something I’d use every day. The tiny sample size is more than plenty. Apply this with caution (and a light touch).

The face disc, though very convenient, lacks in performance and functionality. It would have been nice to have a mirror on the lid. Also, the color goes on SO lightly that it requires about two or three applications to look normal. I’d rather just use my own blush, bronzer, and highlighter.

THE RESULTS: As you can see below, the overall effect is very subtle. I used every product in the sample kit (including TWO layers of ‘Bye Bye Foundation’ topped with finishing powder) and still didn’t think there was a heavy feel.

I also did some light contouring, which I never do, just to see how the product would perform. It appears as if the highlighter, blush, and bronzer in the face disc are designed for fool-proof application. So it allows for buildable coverage without you ever really going too far. But it does take more layers of application to get a noticeable effect.

And there you have it. Have you tried IT Cosmetics? I’m interested in hearing what you think of their products, since this is my first go with them. What should I try next?

Note: This is not a sponsored post. Simply a testament to my lack of willpower and resistance to infomercials. All opinions are 100% mine for products I bought myself.
