Amid all the buzz of the Nordstrom Beauty Trend Show, I was able to corner expert Beauty Stylist William Greene for a little insight on his favorite products and trends. Here’s what he had to say:
Q. What’s one product you think every woman should have in her makeup bag?
A. An illuminating bronzer. It can highlight the face and add an overall healthy glow, even if you don’t wear anything else.
Q. What’s your pick for a great gift this season?
A. Fragrance candles. Fragrance makes such a difference when you’re stepping into a space.
Q. My main concern is minimizing pores. What advice can you give me for tackling that issue?
A. It really begins with skincare. Covering up with makeup is only a temporary solution. To really deal with the problem, work on your skincare and have an expert help you choose the right serums for your skin. Using a Clarisonic also works wonders with your existing skincare products.
Q. Do you have one must-have product? Something you can’t live without?
A. Definitely sunscreen. Always apply sunscreen to protect your skin, whether you’re wearing makeup or not.
Q. What’s the biggest makeup mistake you see women doing?
A. Not highlighting and contouring for their own best features. Instead of following a standard guide, highlight and contour for your own traits. Play up your own best assets.
Q. And finally, what’s your favorite beauty trend right now?
A. Radiant skin! I love seeing women embracing that gorgeous dewy look. Matte skin is a thing of the past. Try using a tinted moisturizer for a really glowing, healthy look.
