Girls’ Night In: Rebi’s Closet

Rebi's Closet Miami on Bubbles & Ink Blog

Shopping from home while sipping on a glass of wine and paying less than boutique prices for the same brands easily makes me a fan of Rebi’s Closet – even though she’s also one of my closest friends. Sometimes, the fashion gods are giving.

In full disclosure, Rebi of Rebi’s Closet, is one of my nearest and dearest friends. I was thrilled when she started her business four years ago. But that doesn’t mean I wouldn’t be calling on her to set up (literal and proverbial) shop at my place even if I’d just met her. The fact that I can sit on my couch and sip on a glass of champagne while a boutique is magically (and by magic, read: Rebi’s strong arms and professional shop settings) erected around me is probably as close to one of those 90’s RomCom fantasies as I’m going to get (that shopping scene in Pretty Woman fueled many misguided daydreams for me).

So on this particular Tuesday night, as my daughter is running around trying to avoid her daddy catching her and putting her to bed, and my Pomeranian is sniffing around trying to score crumbs off the snack table brimming with good cheeses and strawberries I admittedly only set out for color, Rebi’s Closet has taken over my living room with the ease and organization of any swanky little boutique in one of Miami’s ample posh neighborhoods – at much lower prices on the same brands. And it looks good in here.

With an accessories table, racks of trendy and classic pieces, and fashion forward clutches set on my Ikea bench-turned-shop display, we are ready to enjoy a happy hour/wardrobe update session complete with a spacious makeshift dressing room with a full-length mirror set in Lucy’s play area. The hours pass and we don’t even notice – there could’ve easily been a makeover movie montage made had there been someone there to film us. And by the end of the night, after countless outfit changes and honest yeas and nays from the group on the couch, I realize the best thing about this experience is that the rest of the world has faded away and I have almost forgotten that I spent my day covered in baby food.
