I finally got out to Wynwood to check out 1-800-Lucky, Miami’s recently opened Asian marketplace. Themed out as a record shop and convenience store, this kind of dining experience is new territory for the city, bringing the food hall concept to the forefront.
I have to admit this is one of the cooler things we’ve done recently. Walking into 1-800-Lucky is almost overwhelming. The music is loud, there are tables and counters packed to the brim in the dimly lit outdoor space and all along the interior, where several food concepts are there to offer variations on ramen, poke bowls, dim sum, small bites, and, of course, ice cream cones with sugary cream whipped tall with protruding unicorn toppings. Honestly, what’s not to love? Oh, and did I mention the huge indoor-outdoor bar? This place is nothing if not Instagrammable. And the food is as tasty as it is photogenic.
