Bad Brow Bandits

Brows - Anastasia Products

This is a rant against bad brows and the people who cause them. While I fully realize there are SEVERAL more important things I could be complaining about, being a new mom means I get about 30 seconds to make myself presentable these days and I’d rather not spend them drawing features that should already be on my face. So I request your indulgence in my lament as I currently have two skinny half moons framing my eyes, making me look like an angry Disney character every time I frown. And nobody likes an angry Mickey.

Year Three

Jean Godfrey-June of Lucky Magazine interviews Lauren Conrad

Another year gone by and, yet again, when the 18th of May rolls around, I get that nagging suspicion I’ve forgotten something…which, of course, I inevitably have. The 18th marked my third year of blogging. When I looked back at year two, I thought there was no way I would top it, but just now looking back at my third year, I realize I have so much to be grateful for – and things are only getting better. Here’s a look back at my favorites (click on each pic to see more). Hope you enjoy. And THANK YOU SO MUCH for reading. <3

Thoughts on Motherhood

On Motherhood

I just wanted to give a nod to all the moms out there for the amazing work you do. If you’ve managed to keep your child alive and healthy while maintaining some shred of sanity, I curtsy to you. Today marks four weeks since I began my journey as a new mom and while there have certainly been immeasurable joys to outweigh any and all inconveniences, there’s also this absurd reality that has indefinitely become everyday life.

3.1 Phillip Lim for Target

Just when I thought I couldn’t possibly love Target any more, they announced this morning that their next designer collaboration is with none other than accessory great Phillip Lim. The it-bag designer will be debuting a collection featuring more than 100 items ranging in price from $19.99 to $299.99 for apparel and $19.99 to $59.99 for accessories. Coveted pieces include bags, dresses and a trench coat for women, and shoes and a leather moto jacket for men. Travel accessories, such as a duffle bag and multipurpose pouches for women and men, round out the collection. Items hit stores September 15th, so be sure to mark your calendars. I have a feeling this is going to be another Wu/Mossimo-type situation.

Nesting: The Nursery Project

Nesting: The Nursery Project

Truth be told, I’ve probably been nesting for quite some time now – probably, some would argue, well before I even thought about getting pregnant. But once the hormones kicked in, I went into overdrive hitting up HomeGoods in an embarrassingly cliched way.

Miami Fashion Week’s fifteenth anniversary included a luxury wedding pavilion showcasing a variety of international bridal designers. But among them, Rosa Clara Bridal was clearly distinct. The world-renowned designer displayed a collection that is beyond the usual bridal fluff. Shown here are some stunningly graceful pieces with a whole lot of glamour and edge, created for the woman who wants to wear something truly unique on one of the most memorable days of her life. (I’d give anything to wear that last one.) You can visit Rosa Clara locally in Miami at 365 Miracle Mile, Coral Gables.

Roberto Cavalli, a designer whose name has been prevalent in the fashion industry since the early seventies, presented a capsule collection at Miami Fashion Week’s fifteenth anniversary show, complete with all the exotic prints that have been woven into his designs for years. Having just shown new prints and shapes at Milan Fashion Week that he hopes will convey to his “fans all over the world that Roberto Cavalli is back,” the Italian designer’s pieces were nothing if not bold.
