A Guide to Shopping the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale

Nordstrom-Anniversary-Sale Shopping Guide

Fall is likely the last thing on anyone’s mind right now as Miami turns into the swampiest mosquito playground in the country. But the end of June also signals the onset of the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, an annual shopping event, happening in July, that looks ahead to fall with brand new styles priced at big discounts. (Though July 17th is the official start date for the public, Nordstrom card holders get in as early as July 9th.) I’ve been shopping this sale for years with my personal shopper (and now very good friend, Rosi). So this year, I’ve decided to share some of my tips with anyone who wants to take advantage of the sale. Ready to update your look? Read ahead for some tried and true methods. Happy shopping! Review: Wantable Style Edit

Wantable-Review-May-Style-Edit

I never thought I’d be one for a monthly styling subscription (being a “pear shape” isn’t easy!). But because I find myself shopping online these days pretty much 95% of the time (and often returning a good portion of what I’ve purchased), I decided to give the new Wantable Style Edit a try. I’d used them (and reviewed them) before, so when they released their first styling service for apparel recently (their intimates box has been one of my favorites for a few months now), I figured I’d give it a shot. Read ahead for all the details & pics.

11 Ways to Shop Smarter

11 Ways to Shop Smarter | Bubbles & Ink

Some may call it a pastime. I like to call it a sport. Over the years, I’ve honed my shopping skills to the point where I’ll rarely ever pay full price for an item. And neither should you. With the slew of offers, social media sites, and apps available to shoppers these days, you should never experience buyer’s remorse over pricing (those velvet damask-patterned drop-crotch pants are an entirely different matter, though). So read on and benefit from my countless shopping trips. I like to keep telling myself it’s research…

“L” is for Ladylike

"L" is for Ladylike | Brunch Outfit Post on Bubbles & Ink

Happy New Year, friends (Is it too late to say that?). In a very rare occurrence, Tony and I had a babysitter for the day and were able to enjoy a child-free brunch date at Segafredo (thanks to a great Groupon deal). Not that we don’t enjoy taking the little one out, but we certainly like to keep the date nights (or days, rather) alive whenever possible. We’ve realized being parents has given us a whole new appreciation for daytime drinking that we certainly took for granted pre-kid. Also, while the rest of the country is covered in snow, I have to admit I’m grateful for spring weather in Miami. Hope the locals are enjoying the sunshine while everyone else is keeping warm. Wishing everyone a great weekend!

Favorite Finds: Love, Always

Love, Always by SD on Bubbles & Ink

I first told you about Love, Always almost exactly one year ago when, thanks to my Instagram obsession, I began discovering a slew of adorable little boutiques. Since then, the online accessories shop based out of South Florida has gained momentum and been featured in publications such as Redbook and Who What Wear. And it’s no wonder – the girl behind the shop can curate some serious arm candy. I’ve been loyally stacking mine from Miss Stephanie’s finds, two of which are pictured above (a dainty pair of clover beaded bracelet with a new obsession, the tassel a.k.a. the Ritchey bracelet, named for her friend who creates my other wish list item). And, as if you needed another reason to shop, you can rest assured in knowing you’re doing some good; every month, a portion of their profits is donated to a different anti-bullying organization.

You can stack your own arm candy (and necklaces, and rings) at a discounted price. Use code BUBBLES20 to receive 20% off your purchase. Happy shopping!

Favorite Finds: Gigglosophy

Favorite Finds: Gigglosophy on Bubbles & Ink

Like most of the great little boutiques I’ve been frequenting lately, I discovered today’s Favorite Finds shop on Instagram. (I was actually the lucky winner of one of their contests!) Gigglosophy is an adorable little shop on Etsy with covet-able trinkets galore at incredibly reasonable prices for such great quality. I’m obsessed with their ampersand charm necklace and though I did win the gold pave bracelet in the pic above, I snagged the mint and white link bracelets for myself soon after.

For the next few days, you can pick up a few of your own pieces at a discounted price. Readers of Bubbles & Ink will get 20% off now through July 5th. Use code BUBBLES20 at checkout. Enjoy!

3.1 Phillip Lim for Target

Just when I thought I couldn’t possibly love Target any more, they announced this morning that their next designer collaboration is with none other than accessory great Phillip Lim. The it-bag designer will be debuting a collection featuring more than 100 items ranging in price from $19.99 to $299.99 for apparel and $19.99 to $59.99 for accessories. Coveted pieces include bags, dresses and a trench coat for women, and shoes and a leather moto jacket for men. Travel accessories, such as a duffle bag and multipurpose pouches for women and men, round out the collection. Items hit stores September 15th, so be sure to mark your calendars. I have a feeling this is going to be another Wu/Mossimo-type situation.
